A video clip of a three-year-old boy from Nanking, China, running in the snow with just briefs on has gone viral.

The boy, He Yide (何宜德), was traveling with his parents in New York during the Chinese New Year holidays and the temperature dropped to -13C on the morning of January 22, when the video clip was filmed.

Wearing yellow briefs and sneakers, the boy was seen jogging on the street.

He then turned around to his father, weeping, and is heard saying, “Baba, hug me,” and “Baba, can you ask mama to come?”

The naked jogging finished after he did a series of push-ups on the snowy street.

A huge chorus of netizens condemned the parents’ cruel behavior.

But the boy’s father — now known as “Eagle Dad” — explained that he started strict physical training on the 10th day after the boy was born.

The boy has been swimming, mountain climbing, jogging, cycling, street dancing and does taekwondo.

The father is proud of the fact that Yide has never had a cold.

Tough love from Chinese parents became a huge issue after the publication of Amy Chua‘s Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother in 2011.
